Haiti Earthquake Relief
Maize Lady Eagles basketball team volunteer to package meals

The Maize Lady Eagles basketball team volunteered for several hours on Saturday, January 23 to help package meals for Haiti. The event was sponsored by the Salvation Army and Numana at the Kansas Coliseum. The meals were used in the emergency situation in Haiti as well as to implement school feeding programs in impoverished areas of the world. The Lady Eagles worked in assembly line fashion to mix ingredients, weigh and package the meals. Coach Jerrod Handy called it "A great opportunity to help out those in need. It was also a chance to build character and team unity."
