Friday, September 3 Our 8th grade volleyball team traveled to Derby last night. The B team played well but unfortunately lost in their first match of the season 15 – 25 and 23 – 25. The A team came out a little cold losing the first game 22-25, but came back with a vengeance in the second game and won 25 – 12. This constituted a 3rd game for the match. Maize Middle pulled together and won the 3rd game 15 – 10 to win the match. The girls all did an outstanding job for the first game. The 7th grade volleyball team began the season with an exciting win over Derby. Balanced scoring among all players led to the dominating victory 25-8 in the first game and 25-10 in the second game. In the B team game, Maddy L. led the scoring attack with an impressive 18 serves in a row. Maize defeats Derby 25-7 in the first game.
